Babying your Baby Iguana the Right way
Baby iguanas should live with baby of cats and dogs. It is during this stage that these iguanas appear in their most fragile and need your loving care the most. 1. Shelter.
Not just any other type of cage will do. Though it does not matter what kind it is made of, you need to consider what should be inside the cage that the iguana will need.
An example is having something in them that will keep your pet warm during the night. Check out the artificial turf or carpeting cover the floor of cage. If you do not have the budget for it, you can opt for newspapers because they work just as well.
You have to make some branches for your pet because iguana love to climb on trees. Green iguanas have feet and can climb from one branch of tree to other. You have to make sure that branches are strong enough to hold their heavy weight in case they can lay down.
2. Temperature.
Baby iguanas should always be warm in order to stay healthy. The temperature of cages can be examined by placing the thermometer in cage of baby iguana.
Make certain that you maintain a temperature of 70 degrees during the night and 85 degrees in the day. It is also a good idea for the cage for its shelter to be placed near a source of heat. You will notice that your baby iguana is inclined to have comfortable rest if it stay close to radiated heat.
Monitoring of temperature is required during the cold season. it is ncessary for you to check shelters of baby iguanas regularly. Death can occur in low temperature so, you have to take care of proper temperature.
3. Intake of food.
Baby iguanas need to have a diet that is rich in Vitamin D3, phosphorous and calcium. Lots of greens are also needed. vegitables and fruits are very helpful for proer growth of your iguana pet.
Baby iguanas are not used to being fed any kind of Iguana food. The digestive system of baby iguana is not as strong as digestive system of cats or dogs. Know what kind of Iguana food they can take and what they cannot.
