Why You Should Have A Cat Carrier For Kitty

Are you planning a trip and want to take kitty with you?  A cat carrier is a necessity in this case. While some are expensive, others such as cardboard models are affordable.  Find out why your kitty needs to be confined when in your car.

First, safety is a major concern.  Pets that aren’t confined can be injured during quick stops or even thrown from the vehicle.  Your animal could also strike you causing you to be hurt, too. Another safety issue is that the cat could distract your from your driving.  One scenario is that kitty could catch sight of a dog while you are driving and panic.  An unrestrained cat could end up under your feet and create issues for you when you try to brake.  You may like having your pet in your lap, but remember that a deployed airbag could quickly end your pet’s life.

Secondly, comfort is important.  Felines like the security of their own enclosed space, particularly when they are in unfamiliar situations.  Since they are more comfortable, they may even fall asleep.  They won’t be as likely to spot a dog or another evil that will send them into a panic.

Fewer messes are another bonus.  Some cats get very stressed when traveling.  This could cause vomiting, urinating or bowel movements.  You will have an easier time cleaning up this type of mess from a pet carrier rather than carpeting in your cat.  You are likely to not have as much fur flying around your vehicle, too.

You also need to think about how you will get the cat out of the car and to your destination.  You may have difficulty carrying kitty if you are going somewhere unpopular like the vet.  Your kitty could escape from you and get lost.

Are you transporting multiple pets?  Separate carriers for each one are best.  Then, you won’t have to worry about fights while you are trying to drive.  If there is an accident, you won’t have to worry about them getting hurt from striking each other if they are in separate crates.

You need a  cat carrier to assure your pet’s safety as well as comfort and to reduce messes while you are traveling.  The ride will be safer for the humans in the vehicle, too.
